Jahr für Jahr gilt der "Ball über den Wolken" im Grandhotel Atlantic an der Hamburger Außenalster als gesellschaftlicher Höhepunkt der Ballsaison. Der Ball findet jeweils am zweiten Samstag im Februar statt. Im Jahr 2007 stand er unter dem Motto: Erstflug Charles Lindbergh, Paris/New York 1927.Das Hotel Atlantic beauftragte mich, Ihre Empfangs- und Bankett-Damen mit eleganten Abendkleidern in 20er Jahre Optik auszustatten. Auch die Musiker, die in den verschiedenen Ballsäalen spielten, stattete ich kostümtechnisch aus. Im Foyer spielte z.B. die Band "Soulisten". Ihre "historischen" Fliegeroutfits, mit den typischen Fliegerkappen und Brillen und mit Ihren Knickerbockern, erinnerten an Quax, den Bruchpiloten, und sorgten allgemein für Heiterkeit.

Every year one of the highlights of the Hamburg society calendar is the ”Ball over the clouds” in the Grand Hotel Atlantic by the Lake Alster. The ball takes place on the second Saturday in February. In 2007 the ball took the motto from the first flight of Charles Lindbergh from Paris to New York in 1927.The hotel commissioned me to dress the hostesses and waitresses in beautiful evening dresses in the 1920´s style. I also styled the musicians that played in the different ballrooms. The band “The Soulisten” for example played in the foyer; I dressed them in historical flying outfits complete with, flying caps, goggles and knickerbockers. The look was reminiscent of Quax the “Stunt pilot” and provided much amusement.
